Masters

Masters Swimming is for adults, aged 19 or over.

MASTERS SESSIONS ARE SUSPENDED AT THE TIME BEING (19 October, 2010)

Broadstairs Lifeguard and Swimming Club is developing a small but perfectly formed Masters branch.

The Masters come together for local galas, such as the East Invicta and Kent Masters.

Click here to go the page with results and write ups.

In Masters swimming, swimmers only compete against those in their own age group.  These are as follows:

19-24 years - age group XX

25-29 - age group A

30-34 - age group B

35-39 - age group C

40-44 - age group D

45-49 - age group E

50-54 - age group F

55-59 - age group G

60-64 - age group H

... and they continue upwards!

Membership is £15 for the first year, and just £10 if you rejoin - an excellent deal - plus a one-off ASA registration fee - but membership is conditional:

  • Masters members train themselves in their own time and join together at competitions - there is unfortunately no water time available at the moment

  • Membership is ASA Category 1.  This is for 'low level competition' as defined by the Amateur Swimming Association

  • Masters members do not have voting rights at Annual General Meetings

  • Masters membership is subject to the Committee's approval, and to the Club Rules (the Masters Membership Application form and Masters Agreement are available on the Download page)

If you are interested, please contact the Club on:

Please put the word 'Masters' in the subject line.
